Last Saturday

 was the feast of St Teresa of Avila. I have been meaning to share a quote of hers which I committed to memory long ago:

"Let nothing trouble thee;
Let nothing frighten;
All things pass away;
God never changes;
Patience obtains all things;
Who hath God wanteth nothing;
God alone suffices."

It is a beautiful quote, and has been a source of much encouragement to me throughout my life.

This morning I was in Avila, the land of her.

Now you must learn the language poetry in the Santa Teresa:

Nada te turbe;
nada te espante;
todo se pasa;
Dios no se muda,
la pacïencia
todo lo alcanza.
Quien a Dios tiene,
nada le falta.
Solo Dios basta.

It is very special to read it in St. Teresa's native language. Thank you, Bate!
My husband learned to speak Spanish in college, (though he doesn't get to practice it as much as he would like) and tells me that I should learn it too.(I really only know a little of the vocabulary.) Perhaps someday....

Thank you for the beautiful quote! We actually used to sing her quote in Spanish- as Bate wrote it above- as a worship song in college. It is very beautiful. I love the picture as well :)

You're most welcome Kate! It is a great favorite of mine. And I am glad you like the picture. I had to brave the rain to take it, but it was well worth it.
Nice to hear from you again.
