These lovely flowers (~I wish I knew their name!) are spilled all over our south lawn.
Perfect for the feast day, as they wear our Lady's colors!

We live with our eight children in an old farmhouse ( the original part of which was built around 1858) way out in the country. ehhhh......hydrangeas?
Bate, I did a litte bit of sleuthing and discovered that they are actually violets! I had only ever seen violets that were, well, violet (or once in a great while white) so even though they were structured like a violet, I thought they must just be a close cousin. But now I know!
I do love hydrangeas......one day I hope to plant some...
