I have a weakness for old crabapple trees. Not only do they have gorgeous blossoms, but it was in an old crabapple tree that my father built me my very first (and only) tree house. I recently discovered that we have two of these dear old trees on our property. Lovely!

One More Day......
...until my Knight comes home. He left first thing Monday morning on business, and even though the children and I have managed to keep very busy, we have missed him tremendously!
Just one more day....

Feast of the Annunciation.....
These lovely flowers (~I wish I knew their name!) are spilled all over our south lawn.
Perfect for the feast day, as they wear our Lady's colors!

Moss....
Did quite a bit of work with moss yesterday...........after I had completely rid all the cracks and crevices in our patio of weeds! Whew! I am still sore! The children helped me gather moss (~we have tons growing under our old lilac bushes) and we filled every crack and crevice with it.
And it looks so very nice.
I love moss.

Canticle of the Sun
"Be praised, my Lord, through all your creatures,
especially through my lord Brother Sun,
who brings the day; and you give light through him.
And he is beautiful and radiant in all his splendor!
Of you, Most High, he bears the likeness."
~St. Francis of Assisi

Happy St. Patrick's Day!
Just put my shepherd's pie in the oven for the St. Patrick's day shepherd's pie cook off.......and I hope it works out, as I kind of did my own thing, rather than follow a recipe, and added a few *secret* ingredients (~no surprises there, right?;)......we'll see!
Hope you all have a wonderful St. Patrick's Day!

Irresistible....
My poor Boots is recovering from a nasty cold that left him with a raspy little voice.
I find it, paired with those dark brown eyes, utterly irresistible...;)

Rainy Day
The sun is hiding away today...
....but I am determined to stay cheerful!
Soon I will put on a big pot of chicken potato soup, and then I must read the children another chapter of The Princess and the Goblin .....after all, I did promise them that I would...;)
After that, I am hoping to be able to steal a few minutes at the piano. There is a new melody playing in my mind that I must try to work out.......We'll see!

Now is the Time...
"Now is the time of a fruitful sowing for eternity, when the harvest will be plentiful. Do not lose courage. Your sufferings endured with patience are worth a thousand times more than any other austerity. This is what God asks of you for the present."
~St. Margaret Mary

Sunny Morning.....
The sun was just pouring in through the eastern windows all morning. And I woke to the sound of birds singing outside our bedroom windows.~I love to hear them singing!
Such a perfect way to start the day!

Sunshine....
I am loving the sunshine that has been streaming in through the windows today! And my mind has been brimming with plans for all of the out-door-things I would love to get accomplished this year...
...It is so hard to concentrate on laundry, and all the rest of the catching-up-work I have left to do after our busy weekend.
I just want to go out and spend the entire day drinking in the sunshine......
Hurry, Spring!!!

On Temptation
"Blessed is the man that endureth temptation; for when he hath been proved, he shall receive the crown of life, which God hath promised to them that love him."
